I did 6 easy today. Nothing to write home about. I ran it at 7:38 pace. A few posts ago Bob asked the following about Fartleks:
How far, or in how much time, do you run the "fast" set, then the "medium" set? (Does that make sense?) Thanks!
We run the fartleks for 30 seconds fast and 30 seconds medium for 3 miles. Fartlek is a Swedish word that means "speed play". Fartleks teach you to change paces efficiently. For the past few weeks Sean has us doing Fartleks and Progressive runs for several reasons:
- Low risk of injury
- Simulates the pain of a race
- Quick recovery (Usually you feel good the next day)
