1 Mile Cool Down
This was definitely the easiest progressive run I have done so far. I guess I don't know my body. I came into the workout unsure of my adductor muscle and I ended up breezing through this workout. The reason I was unsure of the adductor muscle was that I could feel it all day yesterday and early this morning. But the thing is that during the run it sort of relaxed and went away. I didn't feel anything until the last mile. Sean said the muscle was a "good kind of sore because of the adductor workout the other day". I believe he's right. The run was easy and my breathing didn't elevate until halfway through mile 8, but only mildly. I only started breathing heavily on the last mile. During the last mile I got down to 5:05 pace halfway through. I realized this when I looked down at my watch so I shut it down a bit till I slowed to 5:12 pace and then cruised on in and finished the mile. I really didn't want to go too fast so I wouldn't strain anything unnecessarily. The last two workouts are encouraging because they indicate that I'm in the best shape ever, but I ended up limiting the efforts in both due to apprehensiveness about the adductor muscle. Before, during my workouts, I would have to put up massive efforts to hit the times I'm hitting easily right now(temperature change is a factor). I really can't wait to start training the way I was before. I feel my body is ready for another level of challenge. But I must remain cautious and allow time for my adductor muscle to heal properly, or risk going back to square one.
On a side-note Sean suggested running the Half-Marathon instead of the marathon. I'm seriously considering this. I'm never going to be a blazer in the full marathon and only use it for training, but I think eventually I could do damage in the half. I'll have to mull over this one.

he might blaze it but he sure wont torch it, or kill it, blaze it yes, but not kill it. torching and killing good, blazing, well ive seen better.

This is hilarious I did not expect the word "BLAZE" to "spark" such a controversy. I'm pretty sure June didn't either. Since this blog is listed on the HARRA (Houston Area Road Runners Assoc) web site and young runners may also be reading it, I cannot endorse profanity. Rather than delete the post in question, I'm going to take a stab at paraphrasing some things. Anon2, I apologize if I end up butchering the essence of your post.

Anonymous you are full of "human waste". Since Blazing is good and Torching is better. Please find a word that's about 4 levels below blazing grade wise or time wise and use that word for you and tell yourself. Am going to ________ it. If Bill is going to blaze it then you are going to walk it my friend. Am afraid you might "have stomach issues" in the middle of a race the way Paula Radcliff "had bladder issues". Thanks very much. Here is the way I see it. Anon really didn't say anything too controversial. He may not have given me a ringing endorsement but I don't think I qualify his statement as offensive. Maybe slightly condescending if I had thin skin, but I don't really care. As a matter fact I had a slight chuckle. So Anon I welcome your contributions in the future.
